FIELD: transport engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used as dust trap in different reservoirs filled with liquid, mainly, for entrapping dust in fuel tanks of automotive vehicles. Proposed oil dust trap for fuel reservoirs contains cylindrical housing with hermetically sealed cover in center of which inlet port is made, and in lower part of housing oil bath formed, outlet branch pipe arranged on side surface of housing over oil bath, central tube inside housing and air cleaner rigidly connected with central tube. Dust trap has inlet branch pipe fitted into inlet port and hermetically connected with central tube. Air cleaner is made in form of Archimedean spiral placed in space between tube and housing and contacting through end face surfaces with housing cover. Archimedean spiral is connected with central tube by inner end and it tightly fits housing by other end. Central tube is provided with holes located in vertical rows directly after spiral-to-tube joint. Height of cleaner is equal to height of central tube partially dipped into oil bath.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of cleaning of air getting from outside into fuel tanks of vehicles or other reservoirs.
