FIELD: manufacture of molded articles in form of briquettes and tablets from inorganic cyanides.

SUBSTANCE: cyanide crystallizate at total moisture content of 2 to 15 mass-% is separated in the course of crystallization from mother liquor by means of solid and liquid phase separating unit and is delivered without addition of auxiliary agents promoting molding procedure to molding unit at application of pressure. Cyanide is molded into molded articles at moisture content of from 0.1 to 12 mass-%; moisture content in molded articles is below moisture content of crystallizate at all times. It is good practice to make molded articles at residual moisture content of from 0.2 to 6 mass-% at temperature above 40°C from crystallizate fed from drum-type filter or centrifuge. Proposed method is adaptable for production of briquettes from inorganic cyanides, mainly from cyanides of alkaline and alkaline-earth metals.
