SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing sodium methioninate aqueous solutions with sodium carbonate contents less 6% from crude hydrolysis mixtures forming in saponification of 5-(β-methylmercaptoethyl)-hydantoin with 1.1-6 equivalents of sodium hydroxide and/or sodium carbonate. Water is distilled off from crude hydrolysis mixture up to the content sodium methioninate 60-90 wt.-% and at temperature in the range from 90 to 140 C the precipitated sodium carbonate in the absence of water is isolated as monohydrate and/or hydrocarbonate. Invention describes also method for preparing the granular granulate from such solutions.
