FIELD: mining industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to brazillite concentrate purification technology, including removal of radioactive impurities. Concentrate is treated with potassium hydroxide at concentrate-to-alkali weight ratio 1:(0.05-0.5) and 150-250°C. Treated product is washed with water, treated with 5-15% aqueous hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid at 50-100°C, separated by gravity, dried, calcined at 800-900°C, and subjected to magnet separation.
EFFECT: increased degree of radioactive impurity and silicon impurity removal as well as removal of other impurities, including iron, even at high content thereof in concentrate.
