FIELD: initiation of controlled nuclear fusion reactions.'

SUBSTANCE: proposed method for intensifying sonoluminescence process on geometric symmetry centers of cylindrical or spherical radiation surface involves use of traveling sound waves excited in liquid medium exposed to static pressure. Radiators are made in the form of hollow cylinder or hollow sphere and their walls radially vibrate under the action of bipolar electric pulses. In the origin of each period of vibrations radiator walls are radially stretched and held in this state for time period long enough to make it possible for excited low-pressure traveling wave to propagate at speed close to general sonic speed from walls to geometric symmetry center of radiator and to organize cavitation spaces therein. After that electric current in exciting pulses is reversed. In the process radiator walls suffer radial compression in which it is held for time longer than that taken to produce rarefaction traveling wave and to form cavitation spaces. In the process higher-pressure traveling wave is produced. Next bipolar electric pulses are generated only after vibrations within radiator caused by preceding collapse of cavitation spaces cease.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of controlling nuclear fusion reactions.
