SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sphere of creation and development of universal technologies to which process of cavitation excited in liquid medium belongs. Sphere of use of cavitation as technological means featuring high power congestion is very wide. According to proposed method of excitation of cavitation in liquid medium enclosed in closed volume by creating stretching and compressing stresses under cyclic load generated by changing of volume, ac current is passed through liquid whose frequency is at least four-fold frequency of applied cyclic load. Moreover, current is supplied in pulses during compression cycle at stage of decreasing of value of the latter.

EFFECT: increased process efficiency of cavitation process owing to active stimulation of rise of number of cavitation bubbles per volume unit.
