FIELD: measurement engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method and device can be used for measurement of linear sizes by means of pneumatic high pressure air caliper gauge-type surveyor's wire measures. Gas is supplied to measuring chamber by means of set of valves as well as through indicator pipe and then through measuring nozzle to space between surface of location part and edge surface of measuring nozzle. Limits of measurement are adjusted by means of minimal and maximal sized location parts into the space. Boundary positions of float are adjusted due to controlling of air discharge. Then item to be measured is installed and indications are read out. Before getting inside indicator pipe, the gas flow is stabilized in stabilization chamber while passing through nozzles mounted in generator of cone-shaped aerodynamic insertion as well as through aerodynamic grid mounted at input of indicator pipe. Additional adjustment is performed due to application of additional location part which has intermediate size. The location part is mounted after lower and higher limits of measurement are calibrated. By means of input valve, the float is set onto graduation mark which corresponds to size of additional location part of indicator pipe when gas release valve is closed which valve is mounted at the end of indicator pipe and throttling valve is open. Corrective adjustment of lower and higher limits of measurements is performed after it. Device for pneumatic measurement of linear sizes has measurement chamber, indicator pipe, measuring nozzles and adjustment valves: input valve which is mounted at the entrance of measurement chamber, cross-over valve which is connected in parallel to indicator pipe, throttling valve connected in series with indicator pipe and gas discharge valves mounted at exit of indicator pipe and in front of measuring nozzles. Indicator pipe is additionally provided with gas flow stabilization chamber which has cone-shaped aerodynamic insertion provided with nozzles at its bottom and aerodynamic grid. Cone-shaped insertion narrows at the direction of gas flow motion.
EFFECT: improved precision of measurement.
