FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: ring drill comprises shank and working section made of cylindrical base and diamond-containing dies arranged on its inner, outer, and cutting parts. The cylindrical base is provided with openings that receives baffles made of diamond-containing dies that connect the inner and outer diamond-containing dies. The openings are made of slots. The method comprises making inner, outer, and cutting diamond-containing dies on the cylindrical section of the drill. The dies can be made by galvanostegy with adding metallized or granulated diamond powder into the electrolyte. The thickness of the wall of the cylindrical base can be less than that of the diamond-containing dies.
EFFECT: increased durability.
