FIELD: electrical engineering; magnesium alloy based anodes for metal-air or water-activated chemical current supplies.
SUBSTANCE: novelty is that anode for chemical current supplies incorporating magnesium and mercury has in addition gallium, proportion of ingredients being as follows, mass percent: mercury, 0.1 to 1.2; gallium, 0.3 to 0.8; total amount of metal admixtures, maximum 0.61; magnesium, the rest. Mentioned amount of metal admixtures may include (maximum), %: Fe, 0.05; Ni, 0.01; Si, 0.1; Al, 0.1' Mn, 0.1; Zn, 0.1; Cu, 0.05; Ce, 0.1. Anode manufacturing process includes anode alloy ingot production by mixing and smelting of source components of alloy, aging, mixing, ingot casting and alloy crystallization, ingot rolling to produce sheets, and cutting of anodes to desired size; in the process, molten alloy is mixed up at final stage of production under effect of electric field followed by ingot casting, desired rate of alloy crystallization being ensured lengthwise of ingot.
EFFECT: improved homogeneity of composition and deformability, as well as enhanced electrochemical activity of anode.
