FIELD: converter engineering; power supplies for charging energy storage capacitors.
SUBSTANCE: charging device has resonance-tuned inverter modules controlled by using pulse-frequency method with control pulses of adjacent modules shifted in phase by π/n and control frequency rising starting from minimal value to ensure growth of output voltage due to reducing no-current interval and resonance build-up in oscillatory circuits of inverter modules; in the process input or charge current is maintained constant by varying frequency in response to signal arriving from input or charge current sensor.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability and reduced size and mass of device at high power and voltage gain.
