FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in moulds of billet continuous casting machines. Proposed slag forming mixture contains, mass %: carbon containing material 6-10, fluorine containing material 5-11, impure sodium disilicated 22-28; datolite concentrate 8-14 and cement the rest.
EFFECT: increased assimilating capacity of slag forming mixtures at reduction of content of fluorine-containing material, improved ecological conditions in casting zone, reduced corrosive wear of parts of billet continuous casting machines in zone of secondary cooling.
