FIELD: explosives.

SUBSTANCE: pyrotechnic composition to be utilized in actuating mechanism of pyrotechnic automat contains binder, namely mixture of butadiene/acrylonitrile copolymer with phenol-formaldehyde resin, and potassium perchlorate as oxidant at specified component ratio. Object of invention is to impart high heat-resistant properties to composition destined to armor actuating units operated under kinetic heating conditions, that is to provide composition capable of retaining principal ballistic properties up to temperature 250°C.

EFFECT: enabled formation of differently shaped grains using through-pass pressing or extrusion.
