FIELD: shipbuilding; building of hovercraft.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in varying distance of hydrofoil from hull and its hydraulic locking at any point. At the beginning of hovercraft acceleration from free cruising state, aft hydrofoil is raised flush with bottom and in the course of acceleration it lowers first to depth of 1/3 of wing chord length and hydrofoil turns for increase of angle of attack, thus ensuring lift-off of hovercraft. Handling characteristic aft correction mechanism includes hoisting and extensible frame-type unit, hydraulic motors and hydraulic control system.
EFFECT: improved service parameters of hovercraft; reduced power requirements; reduced consumption of fuel; possibility of correcting handling characteristics under all cruising conditions.
