FIELD: shipbuilding; building of hovercraft.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in varying distance of aft hydrofoil from ship's hull by means of aft correction mechanism and its hydraulic locking at any point. At the beginning of acceleration of ship from free cruising state, aft hydrofoil is raised flush with bottom and in the course of acceleration it lowers to working depth, thus ensuring lift-off of ship. Aft correction mechanism consists of hoisting and extensible frame-type unit, hydraulic motors and hydraulic control system.
EFFECT: improved service characteristics of hovercraft; reduced power requirements; reduced consumption of fuel; possibility of correcting handling characteristics under all cruising conditions.
