FIELD: electrical and power engineering; off-line three-phase power supplies using wind energy for power generation.
SUBSTANCE: proposed off-line no-break power supply system has two independent power supplies interconnected by change-over unit, one of these power supplies being diesel-generator set provided with automatic active power control system; other power supply has synchronous condenser incorporating accelerating device and automatic speed governing system; variable-speed wind turbine rigidly coupled with multispeed induction machine controlled by mode selection unit that controls its operating speed as function of active power; and storage battery connected to synchronous condenser by means of two-set reversible thyristor converter which is controlled in automatic speed control system of synchronous condenser when wind turbine power exceeds load power and in active-power control system of diesel-generator set when wind turbine power is lower than load power and storage battery is discharged. Optimizing operation of diesel-generator set in system has made it possible to reduce its fuel consumption.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of no-break power supply and peak power generation without raising installed capacity of power generating units; enhanced system efficiency.
