ROUND OPENING FLANGING AND EXPANDING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly expansion of round openings in flat and cylindrical blanks.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes expanding rollers joined with drive mechanism through gear wheels and screw-nut transmission; backup roller with drive unit and casing with changeable die. Expanding rollers are suspended on axles with possibility of rotation and they are arranged uniformly along circle of carrier secured to vertically arranged screw and resting upon backup roller through quickly changeable insert. Backup roller is mounted in the same axis as die and screw. Height of insert is determined according desired gap between expanding rollers and die.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of articles, enlarged manufacturing possibilities.
