FIELD: underground well repair, particularly to punch holes in pipe wall.

SUBSTANCE: downhole puncher is lowered in well along with working string. Puncher comprises hollow body with radial channel, hollow cylinder, rigidly secured to upper body part, executive tool movably installed in radial body channel, shear pin, weight, slider arranged in radial channel and shank assembly. Shank assembly is movably installed in cylinder and has wedge connected to slider. Puncher also has protective case connected to weight. Shank assembly has guiding rest and is fixedly secured to working string. Shear pin connects cylinder and shank assembly. Executive tool is installed on slider. Cylinder and shank assembly, wedge and slider, slider and body form translating kinematic pairs. The kinematic pairs create translating kinematic chain. Pipe has rest for weight.
