FIELD: recovery of solid radioactive wastes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for recovering uranium-containing ash includes ash drying, pulverization, thermal treatment, double-stage leaching, filtering, and sedimentation. In the process carbon-ammonia salts are added to pulverized ash and the latter is mixed up with them. Heat treatment is conducted at temperature of 550 - 600 °C. Both leaching stages involve use of mixture of acids NHO3 and HCl taken in proportion 1 : 3. Uranium-containing solution is settled down in ammonia solution upon filtering and insoluble sediment is washed with water and conveyed to disposal area.
EFFECT: enhanced degree of uranium extraction.
