FIELD: recovering uranium-gadolinium scrap to produce nuclear-purity uranium compounds.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes dissolution of nitric and hydrofluoric acids of 15 - 180 g/l concentration, filtering of solution at 50 - 100°C, extraction of uranium from solution by means of tributyl phosphate, rinsing of extracted uranium with ethylene diamine tetraacetate (EDTA) or Trilon B solution of 1 - 10 g/l concentration. EDTA or Trilon B solution is produced by dissolving in nitric acid or mixture of nitric acid and ammonium or sodium nitrate in amount of 1 - 3M.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
