METHOD OF EVALUATION OF DISTANCE COVERED BY VEHICLE ON DEFLATED TIRE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for tires provided with devices for maintaining serviceability of tire in case of pressure drop. For this purpose pressure drop detector is provided. Starting from the moment when said detector notes preset pressure drop limit, distance covered is periodically measured and characteristics parameter of riding conditions is determined. Depending on said parameters and distance covered within definite period, characteristic value of potential elementary damage of device is found in expired period. Then total damage is evaluated basing on combustion of said elementary damage found from beginning of riding on deflected tire, and information is supplied to driver indicating evaluated value of common damage of device for riding on deflated tire.

EFFECT: provision of on-line information of real distance which can be covered by vehicle in case of considerable reduction of pressure in tire under real conditions of riding.
