FIELD: experimental aerodynamics; manufacture of rockets and aviation; determination and control of aerodynamic loads of flying vehicle compartments.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes injection into one or into both compartments (in turn) of case of full-scale flying vehicle of thermostatting medium used as working medium. Flow rate of this medium is so selected that pressure differentials on the outside and inside compartments under ground conditions should correspond to pressure differentials acting on compartments over flight trajectory of flying vehicle. Characteristics of drainage facilities of interest are determined at overflow of medium between adjacent compartments or without it. Different conditions of overflow of medium inside and outside the flying vehicle case are created and flow rate of medium, pressure differentials and temperature of medium in compartments are measured during its flow through each drainage facility. In the course of tests, loss of tightness of individual compartments and entire case as whole is taken into account. According to test results, decision on de-bugging the compartment or change of number of working drainage facilities may be taken.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of flow rate characteristics of drainage facilities; enhanced reliability of operation of compartment; low cost of work.
