FIELD: weapon, applicable in small arms and other types of propelling weapon.
SUBSTANCE: the recoil-checking mechanism for weapon shooting off a propellant charge is featured by production of force of counter-action directed forward simultaneously with absorption of the recoil force directed backward after initiation of the translational motion of the propellant charge. The counter-action force directed forward is produced by imparting forward motion to the first mass at a shot by the propellant charge and essentially by simultaneous imparting of backward motion to the second mass for absorption of the recoil force. In one of the mechanisms the weapon barrel may serve as the first mass, gases from detonation of the propellant charge in the shell are fed to the reaction bulk between the barrel and the breech. These gases move the barrel forward overcoming the action transferring the spring force and transferring the counter-action force directed forward to the weapon frame. Practically simultaneously the recoil from detonation of the shell together with the gases in the reaction bulk move the breech backward, opposite the spring absorbing the energy.
EFFECT: reduced recoil of the weapon and enhanced accuracy of fire.
