FIELD: welding processes and equipment, namely vacuum plants for diffusion welding of short tubular zirconium -steel adapters with male sleeve of zirconium.
SUBSTANCE: unit includes vacuum chamber with welding roller type expander, high-frequency heater, lifting rod with drive mechanism and rotary disc chuck with seats uniformly arranged along its circle for mounting adapters. Mounting seats of face chuck have central openings for passing lifting rod. Welding roller type expander is designed for diffusion welding of adapters. Lifting rod with drive mechanism is mounted under vacuum chamber coaxially relative to roller type expander and heater. Unit also includes additional roller type expander for surface plastic deforming of inner surface of zirconium part of adapter, additional high frequency heater for annealing and additional lifting rod with drive, all mounted in the same axis.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of zirconium-steel adapters due to providing improved corrosion resistance of zirconium part in hot water and steam.
