FIELD: ammunition of rifled and smoothbore weapon.
SUBSTANCE: the cavitating core of the underwater ammunition has a head conjugate to the intersecting head surface in the cavitating edge, central and rear part with a plush surface, the maximum diameter of the circumference describing the cross-section of the rear part determines the core caliber. The aperture angle of the lines tangent to the secant line of the nose surface in the points of its conjugation to the head part in the plane of the axial longitudinal section equals 60 to 180 deg., the core length makes up 2.5 to 12 calibers, the length of the plush section of the rear part makes up 0.2 to 1.2 caliber. The enveloping contour of the core cross-sections from the cavitating edge to the plush surface is limited by the contour of three conjugated truncated cones, whose diameter of the upper base of the first truncated cone equals the diameter of the cavitating edge and makes up 0.08 to 0.28 caliber, the height of the first truncated cone equals 0.4 caliber, the diameter of conjugation of the first and second truncated cones does not exceed 0.6 caliber.
EFFECT: enhanced effective range of damage of underwater targets at air-to-water shoot and shoot in the submerged position with employment of the standard weapon.
