FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved process of producing compounds of general formula I: (I), which are preferably used as antioxidants. In formula I, R₁ and R₂ . independently of each other, represent C₁-C₈-alkyl, cyclopentyl, and cyclohexyl, m is 1, 2, or, 3 (preferably 2), n is integer from 1 to 4, and R₃ represents n-valent linear or branched C₄-C₃₀-alkyl chain optionally interrupted with oxygen atom. Process consists in reaction of compounds having general formula II: (II), in which R represents C₁-C₃-alkyl, with compounds depicted by general formula R₃(OH)_n (III), where R₃ and n are such as defined above. Reaction is carried out at substantially neutral pH in presence of at least one, dissolved or suspended in reaction mixture, carboxylic acid alkali metal salt, provided that carboxylic acid in question is at least partially volatile under reaction conditions. Preferred salts are alkali metal formate and alkali metal acetate.

EFFECT: enabled conduction of reaction in absence of carrier and in substantially neutral medium and thus a number of drawbacks of the prior technical level is avoided.
