FIELD: manufacture of rocket engines.
SUBSTANCE: the steam-water-driven rocket engine uses superheated water as a power carrier and a working matter. The water is heated by heaters built in the engine structure or by outer heaters to highly supercritical temperatures, the engine consists of a water chamber and a nozzle head, an expansion channel is installed in the water chamber, the channel is coupled to the nozzle head with a thrust control device, which is positioned in the engine head section, and the nozzles past the critical section feature supercritical parameters with a non-isentropic mode of efflux.
EFFECT: reduced cost, enhanced adaptability to manufacture and enhanced convenience of use.
