FIELD: rocket fuels.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of disposal (neutralization) of remains of asymmetrical dimethylhydrazine in fuel tanks of ballistic rockets. Method comprises supplying 20% formaldehyde solution into tanks at a rate 200 g/min under nitrogen atmosphere at normal or elevated pressure while controlling temperature by limiting it to 30-35°C and followed by adding, as dimerizing agent, acetic acid having concentration above 20%, which is added before heat evolution ceases.
EFFECT: achieved rapid and safe disposal of fuel.
