FIELD: water treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in water treatment. Detoxification of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine and its transformation products in aqueous media is performed by treatment with carbon sorbents based on naturally oxidized coals of overburden from coal mining enterprises of Kuzbass. Said sorbent is obtained by alkaline activation at 750–800 °C and ratio of coal to alkali of 1:1.

EFFECT: disclosed invention provides shorter decontamination time and higher degree of extraction of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine from aqueous media.
