THE METHOD AND MATERIALS FOR THE BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTION OF SULFURIC ACID Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC C01B17/74 C01B17/80

Abstract RU 2276655 C2

FIELD: chemical industry; methods and installations for decontamination of liquids.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of chemical industry, in particular, to the materials and the method of biological production of sulfuric acid. The invention provides for usage of a stack containing the source of sulfur, the acidophilic micro-organisms and, preferentially, the filler. The stack is saturated with the air and contacts the water solution. At that the first portion of the acid product is returned back into the stack for the second contacting. The method is realized in the device consisting of, at least, one reactor having the base, the bottom layer adjacent to the base and containing the first filling material and the reactionary layer above the indicated bottom layer. The reactionary layer contains the sulfuric raw and the acidophilic micro-organisms. Besides the device contains the aerator, which is partially entering the indicated bottom layer, the sprinkling system passing partially above the indicated reactionary layer, the tool for withdrawal of the acid solution from the reactor with production of the withdrawn acid solution and the tool for return of the first portion of the indicated withdrawn acid solution into the upper part of the reactionary layer. The offered invention ensures the effective and pollution-free production of the sulfuric acid at the low capital expenditures.

EFFECT: the invention ensures the effective and pollution-free production of the sulfuric acid at the low capital expenditures.
