FIELD: applying and securing binding material around articles or groups of articles, particularly for packing and bundling of shipping units having arbitrary elasticity.
SUBSTANCE: method involves overlapping pre-stressed strapping tape ends; cutting tape ends to create locks and bridges between the locks; retracting cutting tool; moving tape ends so that lock shoulders are offset one relative another in opposite directions; closing the locks and fixing the locks to protect them against self-releasing. Tape ends for lock closing are moved by applying force, which exerts permanent action on locks to be connected during the full lock closing operation in direction opposite to tape pre-stressing direction. Device for above method implementation is also disclosed.
EFFECT: increase efficiency.
