FIELD: rod division processes with use of plastic working of metal.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding rod to opening of stationary cutter and cutting off blank by means of movable cutter at cross shearing while providing crosswise clamping and axial compression; using second rod; feeding it to opening of additional movable cutter along the same axis opposite to first rod till mutual contact of their ends under movable cutter.
EFFECT: lowered axial compression effort necessary for realizing operation, reduced percentage length of cut off blanks.
