SUBSTANCE: hydraulic or pneumatic machine operates by displacement method. Device is provided with drive creating the traveling wave and unit for pulsation action on deformable wall and to product being handled. Provision is also made for unit creating the traveling wave in material between inlet and outlet holes, deformable wall possessing bending strength and force-transmitting unit located between drive unit and elastically deformable wall; force-transmitting unit is provided with connecting member located between drive unit and point of transmission of force to elastically deformable wall. Specification gives various versions of device. Proposed unit may be used as shipboard propulsor. Main motion is converted to impulsive motion due to superposition of additional motion on main motion in other direction; impulsive motion is accompanied by wave motion of material.

EFFECT: considerable reduction of friction between elastic and fixed walls of working chamber; reduced abrasive attrition.
