TWIN-SHAFT MULTI-STAGE CENTRIFUGAL PUMP Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC F04D1/06 F04D13/10 

FIELD: manufacture of pumps; multi-stage centrifugal pumps for oil production and maintenance of formation pressure in productive stratum by supply of water to it.

SUBSTANCE: proposed pump is provided with motor, two opposing shafts holding the impellers which form stages together with branches. Impellers of adjacent stages are fitted on different shafts and are separated by guide disks through which shafts are passed. Branches are formed in volume of disks in form of passages shaped as bent diffusers widening from periphery of each impeller towards other shaft. Widened part of diffuser has through holes for transfer of liquid from impeller to next stage. Adjacent stages are turned relative to each other around pump axis through 180°; shafts rotate in the same direction or in opposite directions; adjacent stages are mirror symmetrical relative to each other.

EFFECT: possibility of reducing mounting height of pump at compact radial size.
