FIELD: mechanical engineering devices.
SUBSTANCE: proposed gripping device contains locking mechanism, crossmember on ends of which crossing levers are fitted. Pressure shoes are secured on lower arms of levers, and upper arms are coupled by tie-rods with clamp to be suspended from hook. Conical stop is secured in center of crossmember. Said stop is made for engagement with hole of pipe to be gripped and radial displacement relative to crossmember through value of difference in wall thickness of pipe.
EFFECT: possibility of gripping thin-walled pipes, improved operating properties and enlarged capabilities.
