FIELD: refers to measuring technique and may be used for measuring the speed and absorption of ultrasound.
SUBSTANCE: the essence of the mode is in that coherent acoustic impulses with duration that significantly exceeds the time of passing of ultrasound along the length of the chamber are emitted into the measuring chamber with the aid of a frequency controlled generator of sinusoidal signals, a controlled attenuator and an analogue key. By adjusting the frequency of the generator resonance strengthening of the signal is achieved at the output of the converter and a resonance frequency is defined with the aid of a frequency meter. Initial meanings of the coefficient of absorption and the speed of ultrasound are calculated on frequencies of several resonance conditions and the form of envelope of the section of resulting signal in the state of resonance.
EFFECT: increases accuracy of measuring of small changes in speed and absorption of ultrasound.
