FIELD: electrical engineering; plate-to-plate separators for alkaline cells and batteries.
SUBSTANCE: proposed non-woven microporous material designed to produce extremely thin perchlorovinyl fiber for separators of alkaline cells and batteries has three layers of different-diameter fibers, pore diameter being maximum 9 μm. Proposed method for producing non-woven microporous material for separators of alkaline cells and batteries includes electroforming of extremely thin perchlorovinyl fibers and production of material composed of three layers of different-diameter fibers, compression of material by applying pressure, and its treatment with surface-active material.
EFFECT: enhanced alkali and moisture absorption, reduced electrical resistance, and enhanced chemical resistance of material obtained.
