FIELD: metallurgy, namely tool steels.
SUBSTANCE: tool steel contains, mass %: carbon, 0.8 - 10.5; chrome, 5.0 - 14; manganese, 0.2 - 3; nickel, up to 5; vanadium, up to 1; niobium, up to 0.1; copper, up to 1; sulfur, up to 0.3; calcium, up to o.1; selenium, up to 0.1; tellurium, up to o.1; nitrogen, 0.004 - 0.02; sulfur + aluminum, up to 2; molybdenum + tungsten/2, 1.0 - 4; titanium + zirconium/2, 0.06 - 0.15; iron and production process impurities, the balance. It is necessary to take into account that (Ti + Zr/2) x N ≥ 2.5 x 10-4 mass%2. Method comprises steps of melting steel; casting steel to ingots; hot deforming of ingot for making part. At first above mentioned steel composition having no titanium and(or) zirconium is melt. Then titanium and(or) zirconium are added to melt steel and monitoring is realized for excluding excess local concentration of titanium and(or) zirconium. After hot deforming of ingot produced part is subjected to heat treatment if necessary.
EFFECT: good wear resistance, good resistance against deformation and rupture at action of static and dynamic stresses, high strength and hardness of ready parts.
