FIELD: engineering of optical data carriers.
SUBSTANCE: optical data carrier contains main informational area, wherein metallic reflective film is applied to substrate with a track of pits formed as main data, and auxiliary informational area, wherein identification data of carrier utilized for unambiguous identification of optical data carrier are recorded by means of partial removal of metallic reflective film and forming of areas without reflective film. In auxiliary information area track of pits or a groove is formed on substrate, and step of coils of track of pits or groove is not less than 0,24 micrometers, but not more than 0,45 micrometers.
EFFECT: high record density with allowed limits of defocusing.
