FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: alkaline oil-displacing composition, suitable for shutting off formation water inflow and redistributing streams of oil-displacing water from water-washed high-permeation intervals into intervals not involved into oil-displacement process, is alkali-treated peat product containing 0.1-99.9% alkali, 0.1-99.9% peat, and water (the rest). In the event where composition is additionally freed from the rest of alkali-insoluble peat, composition contains 0.1-99.915% alkali, 0.1-99.9% extractable peat substance s, and water.
EFFECT: enhanced oil displacement efficiency due to surfactant properties of oil-displacing composition as well as to creation in oil formation intervals of reliable waterproof shot-off system.
