SUBSTANCE: proposed asymmetric fractional-pitch winding placed in z - 15 slots on 2p = 6s poles is double-layer m'= three-belt winding with slots per pole per phase q = z/3p = 5/3 assembled of 3 pc coil groups alternating as 2 1 2 1 2 2 2 2 1 repeated c times; novelty is that slot pitch of concentric coils in double-coil groups ym = 3, 1 and turn number (1 - x)wc); slot pitch of those in single-coil groups y'm = 2 and turn number (1 + x)wc) at x = 0.55, where c = 1, 2, 3 ...; 2wc is turn number in slots completely filled with winding.
EFFECT: reduced asymmetry factor and differential dissipation of winding.
