METHOD FOR TREATING HALLUX VALGUS AND APPARATUS FOR EXTERNAL FIXATION FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B17/56 A61B17/60

Abstract RU 2281713 C2

FIELD: medicine, orthopedics, traumatology.

SUBSTANCE: one should carry out osteotomy in area of proximal metaphysis of the 1st metatarsal bone, shift the 1st metatarsal bone externally to bring it nearer to the 2nd metatarsal bone, perform osteotomy in area of distal metaphysis of the 1st metatarsal bone, remove sesamoid bones, rotate distal fragment together with the great toe inwards by restoring longitudinal axis of the first beam, fix fragments with apparatus for external fixation. The innovation enables to prevent the relapse of deformation and restore the function and the shape of a foot. The apparatus contains supports as sectors with cantileverly fixed two needles, not less for metatarsal bones, thread rods, an arch-like support with foramens for the ends of thread rods and the needles at its ends supplied with a soldered piece for the bones of spheno-metatarsal joint and a support as a thread rod for fixation of three sector-like supports, not less. At the end of one thread rod the needle's end is fixed perpendicular to its axis, moreover, another needle's end should be connected with a sector-like support located at the end of the support in the form of a thread rod, and the end of another thread rod is connected with the support in the form a thread rod due to a plank and a set of disks with possibility for regulation. The apparatus provides the chance to prevent the relapse of hallux deformation due to creating the basis of fixation in area of spheno-metatarsal joint and increasing fixation rigidity of hallux metatarsal bones against this basis.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
