FIELD: mechanical engineering; air cleaners.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to air cleaners for internal combustion engines used in vehicles and stationary installation with filtering elements in form of porous cardboard as final cleaning stage. Design peculiarity of air cleaner is that precleaning stage includes volumetric type filtering elements made of open-pore plastic, for instance, foamed polyurethane, with mean diameter of pores of 4.0-0.2 mm and nonwoven materials with surface density of 100-700 g/sq. m and volumetric density of 0.03-0/15 g/cu. M, and allowance coefficient not exceeding standard value equal to 0.4% on guartz dust with specific surface of 5600 sq.cm/g. Said filtering elements are arranged in series.
EFFECT: increased service life of air cleaner till replacement of servicing of filtering elements made of porous cardboard.
