FIELD: polymer chemistry, in particular method for production of polymethylene therephthalate resin.
SUBSTANCE: claimed resin contains 90-100 mol.% of trimethylene therephthalate repeated units and 0-10 mol.% of at least one monomer unit selected from group containing monomer units formed by comonomers differing from monomers used in production of trimethylene therephthalate repeated units and copolymerazable with at least one monomer used in production of trimethylene therephthalate repeated units. Said resin has the next characteristics: (A) intrinsic viscosity [η] from 0.8 to 4.0 dl/g; (B) Mw/Mn from 2.0-2.7; (C) psychrometric brightness L-factor (L-1) from 70 to 100 and psychrometric color strength b*-factor (b*-1) from -5 to 100; and (D) psychrometric brightness L-factor (L-2) from 70 to 100 and psychrometric color strength b*-factor (b*-2) from -5 to 100, measured after resin heating up to 180°C for 24 h in air.
EFFECT: resin for molding producing with high strength and excellent color in industrial scale.
