FIELD: physics, charged particle beams technologies, in particular, engineering of linear accelerators; possible utilization in applications of physics, radiation chemistry, medicine and radiation technologies - roentgen-graphic inspection of large-dimensional objects, control of thick-walled metallic objects, sterilization of medicinal products.
SUBSTANCE: accelerator contains injector of electrons, UHF acceleration system, UHF generator, power and control devices. Acceleration system contains grouping section with standing wave and accelerating section with direct running wave. Grouping section is made in form of biperiodic chain of connected cells. Accelerating section is made in form of periodic chain of cells with optimal Ω-shaped form, at which each cell contains pipes on axis for drifting of beam of electrons being accelerated and windows on periphery for electromagnetic communication. Grouping and accelerating sections are combined in common construction, connected by electromagnetic field and are powered by common UHF generator.
EFFECT: provided production of beam of accelerated electrons without using external focusing devices, possible alternation of energy of beam of accelerated electrons and good synchronization of acceleration system with UHF generator without using special synchronization devices.
