FIELD: mechanical engineering; mechanical gear trains.
SUBSTANCE: proposed gear train contains driving gear 1 and driven gear 3 with end face teeth, set of solids of revolution in form of balls placed over circumference in limited space between working surface of gears. Motion is transmitted from driving gear 1 to driven gear 3 through solids of revolution forming "third body" 5 whose density defines gear ratio and depends on parameters of tooth space, number and size of solids of revolution.
EFFECT: provision of any desired gear ratio in one step.
