APPARATUS FOR CHARGING OF SEEDS INTO DRILLS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A01C7/00 

FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, equipment for charging hopper of seeding units with seeds, such as cereal, grain-and-fertilizer seeding units, as well as fertilizer seeding units, and simultaneously for treating seeds.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has hopper mounted on chassis and equipped with horizontal screw-type discharge conveyor. Charging screw-type conveyor is operatively connected with horizontal discharge screw-type conveyor. Charging conveyor is mounted for rotation in vertical plane. Charging apparatus is also equipped with seed treating device. Seed treating chamber is positioned at the end of screw-type discharge conveyor. Seed treating nozzles are fixed within seed treating chamber arranged circumferentially of screw in plane perpendicular to screw axis. Throat of charging screw-type conveyor is disposed under discharge window of screw-type discharge conveyor. Also, seed treating device is provided with two nozzles arranged circumferentially of screw, in spaced apart relation and in the plane perpendicular to axis of screw at an angle of 60 deg from its vertical axis. Spiral coiling of screw overlaps discharge window opening by 1/4 t, where t is spiral coiling pitch of screw-type conveyor. Additional seed treating nozzle is positioned within charging conveyor at a distance of 1.5-2.0 t from its leading end.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and uniform seed treatment in the process of charging seeds in seeding units.
