FIELD: plastic working of metals, namely methods for producing forged products with elongated axis from ingots and preliminarily deformed billets in forging presses of four-striker forging apparatuses.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of squeezing billet at four sides, feeding it and tilting; changing feed value of billet after each pass (increasing or decreasing it). Forging operation during odd passes beginning from first one is realized at percentage feed value exceeding that of even passes at satisfying next relations: S1 /h1 = 1.2 - 6.5; S2/h2 = 0.5 - 1.1, where S1,S2 - absolute feed value of blank for odd and even passes respectively; h1, h2 - size of cross section area of blank before squeezing it during odd and even passes respectively.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of metal, increased efficiency of forging.
