FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in forging ingots at forging machine four-striker devices. Single reduction of ingot is performed by four strikers. After every reduction, billet is fed and after every pass, billet is turned over. Forging is performed in direction from ingot bottom part to its discard head. Note here that the following ratios are adhered to: l/L≥0.4, S/h≥0.3, ε≥10%, where: I is the distance from ingot discard head to first point if strain during first reduction of ingot by four-striker device, L is the ingot body length, S is biller feed amount, h is billet cross section height at reduction point, ε is degree of strain at single reduction.
EFFECT: higher yield of good metal.
