FIELD: sanitary and hygienic appliances.

SUBSTANCE: invention provides absorbing article such as hygienic as sanitary towel with stiffness imparting element, which is required to confer three-dimensional shape to the article in use. Stiffness imparting element is in flat state before use of article and has rigidity in dry state of the order of 1-15 H as measured according to ASTM D 4032-82. Stiffness imparting element has width in intermediate zone between perineal portion and front portion of sanitary towel, which is adapted to distance between tendons of muscles on both sides of perineum in user's inguinal region ranging from 15 to 45 mm. Article has different rigidity along axial line extending in longitudinal direction of the article, the latter being designed to bend in specified points along indicated axial line when article is placed on user.

EFFECT: improved sanitary appropriateness.
