FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: magneto-fluid shaft seal comprises ring magnetic system composed of magnet and pole members provided with teeth. The pole members are provided with passages for charging the teeth with magnetic liquid. The number of passages is equal to that of the teeth. The outlet of the passages are arranged at the base of the teeth and are shifted from the line of symmetry of the magnetic field toward the teeth to be charged. The inlet of the passages are provided with temporary plugs.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
